Signs You May Have Termites in Pompano Beach

|

Pompano Beach termites, and other similar wood-destroying pests, wreak havoc in the U.S. to the tune of about $30 billion per year, with the typical homeowner swallowing about $3,000 of that.

Pompano Beach termites snack around the clock, laying up to 40,000 eggs per day, so it’s really important to catch ’em early. Unfortunately, Pompano Beach termites often aren’t discovered until your wooden surfaces begin revealing the damage they’ve caused.

Damage from Pompano Beach Termites

Even if your home is built out of steel (wink), termites can bypass the exterior to enter and feed on everything … floors, ceilings, cabinets, furniture – heck even cardboard boxes.

So, how can you tell if you’re infested with Pompano Beach termites? Around here, we call termites the “hidden invaders” as they leave virtually nothing visible to the untrained eye that tells you they’re eating your kitchen cabinets or ceiling joists for lunch.

Signs of Pompano Beach termite infestation

For over 50 years, JP Miller & Sons Services has inspected countless crawlspaces and attics. Along the way, we’ve come up with some signs that Pompano Beach termites could be threatening your most valuable investment:

  • Red flags are discarded wings left on windowsills, or flying termites inside your home.
  • Unexplained piles of what appear to be coarse grains of sand may actually be termite fecal pellets.
  • Wood that is swollen or buckled can be a sign of a termite infestation. If you find or break open a piece of wood and it is honeycombed or carved out, the damage was likely caused by termites, or another wood-destroying organism.
  • Mud tubes along baseboards, on walls, or in crevices or cracks may also indicate termites.
  • A moldy scent can also be a sign that destructive termites are present.
