Broward County issues mosquito alert

BROWARD COUNTY - All the rain during the past three weeks has bought on the inevitable: a big jump in the mosquito population.
The Broward County Health Department issued a warning Wednesday urging people to protect themselves from the biting nuisances, which can transmit illnesses such as West Nile virus and St. Louis encephalitis.
